How to find the missing digits in the series 


How to find digits in a series is both difficult as well as easy. There are some necessary initiatives that are helpful to solve the solution:

For example: 

Multiples of Even numbers:

2 x 1 = 2

2 x 2 = 4

2 x 3 = 6

2 x 4 = 8

And so on 
2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and so on

Multiples of odd numbers are numbers that can be expressed as the product of an odd number and an integer. For example:
Multiples of 3 
3 x 1 = 3
3 x 2 = 6
3 x 3 = 9
3 x 4 = 12 
3 x 5 = 15
3 x 6 = 18

And so on 

3,  6,  9,  12, 15,  and so on

The same is the multiples of 5 

5 x 1 = 5
5 x 2 = 10
5 x 3 = 15
5 x 4 = 20 

And so on 

3,  6,  9,  12, 15,  20 and so on

Find the next digit in the given series?

A) 27

B) 29

C) 30

Solution: 

It is a series of the multiple of the odd digit  '5' 

1 x 5 = 5

2 x 5 = 10

3 x 5 = 15

4 x 5 = 20

5 x 5 = 25

6 x 5 = 30 and so on

So the next digit is C) 30.


Q.2 There is a series of 3, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, ..... 

Find the next digit in the given series?

A) 16

B) 17

C) 18

D) 20

Solution: 

It is a series of the multiple of two odd digits '3' and  '5' alternately. The first one is of '3' and the second one is of '5'. 

3, 5, 6, 10, 9, 15, 12,   ... 

So the answer is C) 20. 


Q.3 There is a series of 2, 4, 6, 8, 12,  ..... 

Find the next digit in the given series?

A) 16

B) 17

C) 18

D) 20

Solution: 

It is a series of the multiple of two odd digits '3' and  '5' alternately. The first one is of '3' and the second one is of '5'. 

3, 5, 6, 10, 9, 15, 12, .... 

So the next digit is 18. 


Q.4 There is a series of 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49,  ..... 

Find the next digit in the given series?

A) 56

B) 64

C) 72

D) 84

Solution: 

The series appears to be a sequence of square numbers:

1 = 1 x 2

4 = 2 x 2

9 = 3 x 2

16 = 4 x 2

25 = 5 x 2

36 = 6 x 2

49 = 7 x 2

64 = 8 x 2

Therefore, the correct answer is B) 64.

5 + 5 = 11

6+ 6 = 14 

7+ 7 = 17 

8 + 8 = ? 

Find the total of 8 + 8 = ?

A) 16

B) 18

C) 20

D) 24

Solution:

5 + 5 = (5+5) + 1 = 11

6+ 6 = (6+6) + 2 = 14 

7+ 7 = (7+7) + 3 = 17 

8 + 8 = (8+8) +4 = 20 

9 + 9 = (9+9) +5 = 23 

So the answer is C) 20


Q.6 There is a series of 

5 + 5 = 10

6+ 6 = 11

7+ 7 = 12

Find the total of 8 + 8 = ?

A) 13

B) 14

C) 15

D) 16

Solution:

5 + 5 = (5+5) - 0 = 10

6+ 6 = (6+6) - 1 = 11 

7+ 7 = (7+7) - 2 = 12 

8 + 8 = (8+8) - 3 = 13 

9 + 9 = (9+9) - 4 = 14 

So the answer is A) 13

Q.7 There is a series of 0, 4, 8, 16, ...... 

The next digit in the series is .......

A) 20

B) 24

C) 28

D) 32

Solution:

0 x 2 = 0

2 x 2 = 4

2 x 2 x 2 = 8 

2 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 16

2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 32

So the answer is D) 32
